Brrr! Did the Groundhog Get the Memo that We're in Florida?

It's an unseasonably chilly day here in Tampa Bay, so I'm bundled up in a chunky sweater and transitioning from my normal cold brew to something warm so we can emerge from our den and deliver these Groundhog letters to our neighbors!

Not gonna lie, this was a heavier year, especially with the loss of people we love—some by tragic death and others by tragic differences. On top of carrying grief, parenting through the tween and teenage years has proven not for the faint of heart. Changes to our little world have certainly felt like we've been turned upside-down and shaken for all our loose change.

Yet simultaneous to the sorrows, our family has collected laughter and new inside jokes that bond us while we gather for dinner (it's my favorite—and nearly only—time when our eyes are up and phones are away). Todd and I are happily approaching 20 years married and still swoon enough to embarrass our children.

The upside-down times have drawn us closer to the Lord in order to know his right-side-upping embrace in ways that we wouldn't have if things had remained status quo.

It's like I've read somewhere: "We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated. We do not know what to do, but we do not give up. We are persecuted, but God does not leave us. We are hurt sometimes, but we are not destroyed." (2 Corinthians 4:8-10)

We're thankful for our Strong Savior, who carries our weighty cares and makes us more like him as we navigate this messy, beautiful life. Thanks for being our friends and family who walk with us, too.

Have a Happy Groundhog Day!
